Pima County Sheriff's Posse Gymkhanas at TVS
The Pima County Sheriff's Posse Gymkhana will be held at the Tanque Verde Stables the 2nd SUNDAY
of every month from November to April and then the 2nd SATURDAY evening from May to October!  



WINTER SCHEDULE

January 2010

10th - Pima County Sheriff's Posse Gymkhana, Registration 11:00 a.m., Events start 12:00 p.m.

16th - 17th - Southern Arizona Horse Expo.  Lanny features as the Colt Starting trainer!  
Besides demonstrating colt starting, Lanny will ride Ruger bridleless and Logan will ride Red Ryder to
demonstrate what's possible with our American Mustangs.

22nd - 23rd - Mustang Magic.  Logan competes with his Mustang, "Red Ryder," in the exclusive
Mustang Magic at the Ft. Worth Stock Show, Ft. Worth, Texas.  See more about the show at

14th - Pima County Sheriff's Posse Gymkhana, Registration 11:00 a.m., Events start 12:00 p.m.

20th - Practical Horsemanship, a Leach "Hands On" Clinic.  Lanny and Logan will be holding
this clinic at TVS.  It's designed to teach you how to read your horse under saddle and how to use
effective cues for the right response from your horse.  You'll learn skills and techniques to maneuver
your horse anywhere in any scenario accomplishing tight turns, small circles, turn arounds, side
passes, backing and good stops.  See the flyer for details

26th - TVS Pot Luck - 6:30 p.m.  Bring food to share, table service, coffee, tea or lemonade
provided.

April 2010

4th - Annual TVS Easter Sunrise Service led by Pastor Ben Shunko.  Non-
denominational service, everyone welcomed.  Potluck breakfast to follow.  Bring breakfast
items to share.  Table service, coffee and hot chocolate will provided.  Questions?  Call

17th - Obstacle Clinic, a Leach "Hands On" Clinic.  Lanny and Logan will be
holding this clinic at TVS.  You'll practice your skills on a modified TVS obstacle
course while Lanny and Logan coach you through typical trouble areas.  See the

SUMMER SCHEDULE
May 2010

2nd - DATE CHANGE!  TVS Mustang Pot Luck, 5:00 p.m.

The date for the TVS Pot Luck was advertised for May 9 but is now changed to
SUNDAY, MAY 2!!

Bring a dish to share, family, friends and your lawn chairs.  Table service, coffee,
lemonade or tea and water will be provided.

Lanny Leach will be showcasing his mustang "Walker." Lanny and Walker will be
going to the competition in Norco, CA, May 14-16. (Logan doesn't have a mustang
for this competition.) Lanny will also be giving a bridleless riding demonstration
with Ruger the mustang that he competed with at Heber City, Utah last November.

Entertainment by Jessica Amerson.  Jessica is a 16 year old Country singer,
songwriter, and performer from Tucson, Arizona.  She opened for Country Music
star Darryl Worley at Old Tucson Studios, and for Little Big Town at Tim and
Willy`s 18th Annual Christmas Show @ Night charity concert at the Celebrity
Theatre, in Phoenix, Arizona.  She also sang the National Anthem at the NASCAR
& NHRA races, and she won the KMLE Camel Country 108`s Breakfast Idol.

Lanny Leach will be showcasing his Mustang mare, "Carson,"  for the Supreme
Extreme Mustang Makeover, Ft. Worth, TX Aug 13-14.  This Mustang Makeover has
a $100,000 purse with $50,000 going to the 1st place contestant.

John Hall a country western singer and a
local farrier and
Mike Zonnefeld, both of whom have provided country western
music for us at past pot lucks.  

Besides the music entertainment we're featuring special guests at this pot luck
including
Fred Hambly, a Western artist from Tucson, Author Pam Venezio who
wrote a series of children's books, and
Lynda Sanford and Lauri Tran from the
Mustangs of America Foundation.

Frederick Hambly will have a display table for his paintings at the pot luck.  Fred is a true painter of the
West.  Horses, cattle, cowboys, images of the West are in his blood. A fifth generation Arizonan, his
Great-Great Grandfather was a sheriff, a politician, a cattle rancher and rode with three Texas Ranging
Companies.   He is  an Artist Member of the Mountain Oyster Club and is represented by Sanders
Galleries at 6420 N. Campbell Ave.  His work can be seen at

Pam Venezio has published and is writing a series of children's books,
Ripley's Travels.  Ripley is a
little dog that vacations with her family and with her two companions, Dodge and Dargo.  One of the
books is
Ripley and the Traveler which is a true story about a Mustang, "Traveler," that was captured in
Nevada. It is based on the Mustang "Traveler" that Lanny started and competed with at the Extreme
Mustang Makeover in 2008.  A portion of the proceeds from the sales of this special edition in the series
of Ripley's Travels will go to help the Mustang Heritage Foundation in their dedication to facilitating
successful adoptions of America's Mustangs and burros.  You can see more about Pam's books at

The Mustangs of America Foundation is a volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting
mustang and burro adoption, training, facilitating public education, rescue and prevention of cruelty to
animals.  There are three divisions that comprise the foundation. Each division works independently as
well as collectively.  One of the divisions is the Mustangs for the Cure Division which is collaborating
with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure to bring attention, education and funding for the Komen
organization with their Mustangs for the Cure™ campaign.  Lynda Sanford and Lauri Tran will have a
Mustangs for the Cure table at the pot luck to sell home décor and gifts benefiting Mustang programs
